Premise:

Nightstands give us away. They're like portraits of us that can be all at once intimate, familiar, mundane, dramatic, peculiar, restrained, quirky, individual, universal, tragic, hilarious, and poetic.
This is an anonymous, visual, and verbal study of our nightstands. (Or whatever is next to our beds.)
Won't you join us?

Submissions

For now: Email photos, drawings, words, paintings, maps, post-it notes etc of whatever you use as a nightstand.
Remember to write 'project' in the subject box.

Things you may discover....

What do we keep there, bring there, hide there?
What are we reading, listening to, writing?
What are we drinking, smoking, eating?
Photos, letters, lists, maps, calendars?
Knick-knacks, religious/superstitious artifacts, voodoo?
Something broken, taped, glued, re-glued?
Lotions, potions, mirrors, teeth, slippers, boots, stilettos, toys?
Scarcity Issues:too many pens, pills, glasses, gummies, condoms?
Evidence of fears, phobias, obsessions?
Sketchbooks, magazines, books, tickets, wallet, keys, weapons?
Old food, crumbs, jewelry, hat, squirt gun, troll doll?
Phone, laptop, radio, ipod?
Is it neat and tidy, sparkling... perhaps seasonal?
Is it cluttered? A personal history.Do we need to excavate, date the layers?
Are there spills, things growing, perhaps crawling out of those drawers?
What's in those drawers? Peeking out from under the bed?
Do we have a nightstand?
A pile of papers. A cup of coffee or glass of whiskey perched on it?
A wall with things written on it/taped, pinned to it?
